bluedogart studio and gallery is owned and operated by Susan Hogan, a middle school special education teacher, and is not like most art galleries you've seen. It is home to "Kids University" and focuses on after-school art classes for children. In addition, various art academies are offered during school holidays as well as a summer theatre and art camp for children ages 5 to 14. Adult evening classes are also scheduled.
The gallery is used to display student work as well as art from local artists, national artists, and international artwork from craftsmen around the world. The gallery is hands on and interactive. Passers-by can view students at any time working in the large front window during classes. Visitors can stroll through the gallery, shop for gifts or artwork, or participate in our many community events.
bluedogart gallery was a proud sponsor of the 2009 Mountain Day festival, and donated planter boxes to decorate downtown Buena Vista streets, which were decorated by participants in this summer's Kid University. In November, students help decorate Buena Vista for Christmas by painting seasonal art in storefront windows throughout the downtown.
