Head to Rocketts Landing for a brand new holiday festival on the river. Jingle on the James will combine hot cider and gingerbread cookies with unique works of art and a twinkling parade of boats on the river. The event will transform Rockett Landing into a temporary art village, featuring work from more than 100 Virginia artists including Ed Trask, Rhonda Corley, Shaun Irving, Annie Ward Love and Jude Schlotzhauer.
From oil paintings to handcrafted jewelry, visitors will have the opportunity to view and purchase new and studio work as well as meet the artists themselves.
The James River Ringers bell choir and Salvation Army Brass Band will be playing holiday favorites throughout the weekend.
The restaurants at Rcoketts will participate in the festivities with brunch and dinner available at The Boathouse as well as lunch & dinner at the new restaurant Currant: a New American bistro. Holiday favorites like hot cocoa, apple cider and gingerbread cookies will be available for purchase throughout the day from Espresso A-Go-Go.
The event coincides with the annual James River Parade of Lights that visitors can watch from the banks of Rocketts Landing. The Salvation Army Brass Band and School of Performing Arts Student Choir will perform at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 12 while the boats line-up.
